The Pasadena Police Department is seeking an experienced Crime Analyst to provide crime trend analysis, assist detectives as needed, and help manage investigative resources for the City of Pasadena. The current vacancy is in our Criminal Investigations Division, which is responsible for compiling, entering, maintaining, integrating, analyzing and reporting findings on crime trends and patterns and other related statistical data and information. The ideal candidate will be experienced, detailed oriented and progressive in applying best practices to law enforcement crime analysis. The successful candidate will be analytical, computer/software savvy, a self-starter and utilize independent judgment in establishing work processes to strengthen the nexus between crime analysis and effective, proactive control to suppression.

CORE COMPETENCIES
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Individuals with possession of a Certificate from the International Association of Crime Analysts or a Certified Crime and Intelligence Analyst (CCIA) Certificate issued by a college or university and recognized by the California Department of Justice, and with three years of job-related experience in a law enforcement agency, will be deemed most qualified.
Special Requirements
Must possess a valid California Class C driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the City's vehicle insurance program.
Successful completion of a comprehensive background investigation is required, including a review of employment history, criminal conviction record, credit history, use of intoxicants and/or other controlled substances.
Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
