CURRENT SALARY (While Attending the Academy) IS $39.7076/hour or an ANNUAL SALARY of $82,591.86. After successful completion of the Police Academy, the salary is increased to $50.3457 - $58.3857/hour or an ANNUAL SALARY OF $104,719.16 - $121,442.36. There are frequent overtime opportunities for Rose Bowl and Downtown Pasadena events. Once you become a Police Officer there are also multiple assignments offered with premium pay, such as Motorcycle Patrol, Aircraft/Helicopter Pilot, Helicopter Observer Duty, (Field Training Officer (FTO), Gang Detail, SWAT, and Special Investigations. If you possess an Advanced POST as a Police Officer, you will be eligible to receive differential pay of 14.5% of base pay. LATERAL INCENTIVE PAY!! Come join our team!  Lateral Police Officers who are hired by the City receive a lump sum payment of $2,500 upon successful completion of one month of work as a Pasadena Police Officer.  Subsequent incentive pays include a lump sum payment of $2,500 upon the successful completion of six months of work as a Pasadena Police Officer and $3,000 upon the successful completion of the probationary period. The City of Pasadena is seeking an experienced Helicopter Maintenance Technician. This position performs journey-level, skilled technical work inspecting, repairing, overhauling, and servicing City-owned helicopters and related equipment in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration rules and regulations, manufacturer guidelines, and Pasadena Police Department policies and procedures. The  ideal candidate  will be detail oriented and have working knowledge of performing a full range of maintenance, inspection and repairs on City owned certificated and non-certificated helicopters.
