Motorcycle Frame Repair and Alignment Technician

Position Summary:

Rack and Pull Industries is seeking a mechanically inclined and experienced motorcycle rider to join our team as a Motorcycle Frame Repair & Alignment Technician.

This is a hands-on position focused on motorcycle collision repair, frame alignment, drivetrain alignment, disassembly, reassembly, and specialized motorcycle repair equipment. The technician will work directly with experienced personnel to learn Rack and Pull's frame repair processes, equipment, and standards.

This position is intended to develop into a larger role within the company. As the technician gains experience and demonstrates the ability to complete repairs accurately and independently, there will be opportunities for increased compensation and responsibility. The long-term goal is for the right individual to eventually take a leadership role in the collision center, allowing Rack and Pull Industries to expand its operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Disassemble motorcycles as necessary to perform frame repairs, measurements, and drivetrain alignment.
• Reassemble motorcycles following frame and collision repairs.
• Assist with motorcycle frame straightening, alignment, and collision repair.
• Assist with drivetrain and rear suspension alignment.
• Learn to operate the Straight Shooter live laser measuring system and other specialized frame repair equipment.
• Measure motorcycle frames, components, mounting points, and replacement parts to ensure proper fit and alignment.
• Use tape measures and other measuring tools accurately.
• Identify frame, suspension, drivetrain, and component alignment issues.
• Troubleshoot situations where components or replacement parts do not fit or align correctly.
• Develop practical solutions to mechanical and fitment problems rather than relying solely on standard replacement procedures.
• Assist with the fabrication, assembly, modification, and testing of specialized motorcycle frame repair equipment.
• Inspect work throughout the repair process to ensure motorcycles meet Rack and Pull's standards for accuracy and workmanship.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment.
• Properly handle and care for motorcycles, tools, parts, and specialized equipment.
• Assist with loading, unloading, transporting, and setting up equipment when required.
• Travel occasionally to assist customers or businesses with the installation and setup of frame racks and related equipment.
• Assist with setting up and operating Rack and Pull display booths at motorcycle shows, rallies, industry events, and other promotional events.
• Professionally represent Rack and Pull Industries when interacting with customers, insurance representatives, vendors, motorcycle shops, and event attendees.
• Perform other motorcycle repair, fabrication, equipment, and shop-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

• Possess a valid Class M motorcycle license.
• Be an experienced and confident motorcycle rider.
• Have a strong working knowledge of motorcycles and motorcycle components.
• Be mechanically inclined and comfortable working with hand and shop tools.
• Be able to accurately read and use a tape measure and other basic measuring equipment.
• Possess strong mechanical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, preference may be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Harley-Davidson motorcycles
• Motorcycle collision repair
• Motorcycle frame or chassis repair
• Motorcycle suspension and drivetrain alignment
• Motorcycle service or maintenance
• Precision measurement and alignment
• Shop equipment installation or maintenance

Physical and Work Requirements

This is an active, hands-on shop position. The employee must be able to safely work around motorcycles, motorcycle lifts, frame racks, tools, and other shop equipment. Duties may require standing for extended periods, bending, kneeling, reaching, working around or underneath motorcycles, and lifting or moving motorcycle components and equipment with appropriate assistance when necessary.

The position may occasionally require travel and work outside normal shop operations for equipment installations, motorcycle shows, rallies, and other industry events.
