The Motor Vehicle Mechanic will repair, rebuild, or overhaul major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks, or tractors. Work involves the following: diagnosing the source of trouble and determining the extent of repairs required, replacing work or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, or engine parts, grinding and adjusting valves, brake systems, changing tires, rebuilding carburetors, overhauling transmissions, and repairing fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems. Must follow a maintenance schedule and check fluids. Requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent program. Must be a good problem solver, mechanically inclined, pay attention to detail, ability to multi-task, properly communicate, and follow detailed instructions. Must be able to work different shifts as required, be able to travel as needed, and be able to obtain and maintain security clearance if required....
