Job Description

This position is located in the city of Westchester. but positions are statewide 

Duties involve a wide range of interpreting for Deaf and Hard of Hearing staff in the Department of Rehabilitation. Activities include, but are not limited to: Interpreting professional meetings, telephone calls, one-on-one meetings with departmental staff or the general public, case staffing, training sessions, departmental operations, inter-departmental meetings, conferences and public events as needed by the department.
 
May retrieve voice mail messages, return calls and assist with other communication needs of the employee. May interpret for staff members who have contact with Deaf/Hard of Hearing consumers.
 
When it is required, interpret as a team with other SSA-Interpreters or contract interpreters.

Working Conditions

Permanent Intermittent employees are not allowed to work more than 1500 hours in a calendar year. The anticipated time worked will be 30 hours per week. If selected, the employee will receive an hourly compensation based on the number of hours worked
