The position of Permit Teacher, Early Childhood Education, is done for the purpose/s of facilitating student success in an inclusive early education environment (ages 0-5) by implementing curriculum, developmental and interpersonal skills; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of students; providing a safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents, and administration regarding student progress.
EXPERIENCE Completion of 175 days of experience in an instructional capacity in a child care and development program; working at least three hours per day within the last four years is required and must be verified. (This experience may include paid and/or volunteer work.) EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university including 3 semester infant/toddler units are required. A Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or closely related field and 6 semester infant/toddler units is preferred. CERTIFICATES/CREDENTIALS/LICENSES: • Possession of a valid California Children’s Center/Child Development Teacher Permit authorizing instruction in a child development center program • Possession of a valid California Child Development Site Supervisor Permit is preferred • Valid California Driver’s License

As an organization, it is comprised of the elected Riverside County Superintendent of Schools and the array of individuals employed by the County Superintendent to help fulfill their statutory duties and responsibilities. A seven member elected County Board of Education is affiliated with the RCOE.
