Job Description
The position of Permit Teacher, Early Childhood Education, is done for the purpose/s of facilitating student success in an inclusive early education environment (ages 0-5) by implementing curriculum, developmental and interpersonal skills; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of students; providing a safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents, and administration regarding student progress.
Requirements / Qualifications
EXPERIENCE Completion of 175 days of experience in an instructional capacity in a child care and development program; working at least three hours per day within the last four years is required and must be verified. (This experience may include paid and/or volunteer work.) EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university including 3 semester infant/toddler units are required. A Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or closely related field and 6 semester infant/toddler units is preferred. CERTIFICATES/CREDENTIALS/LICENSES: • Possession of a valid California Children’s Center/Child Development Teacher Permit authorizing instruction in a child development center program • Possession of a valid California Child Development Site Supervisor Permit is preferred • Valid California Driver’s License

- Letter(s) of Recommendation (Two (2) Letters of Recommendation are required and must be signed by the author. The signature block must include the author’s name and title/relationship to the applicant. Letters must be dated within the last 2 years prior to the position closing date. Letters without author’s signature, name and title/relationship to the applicant and letters without a date or dated more than 2 years prior to the position closing date will not be accepted. One letter from a supervisor is preferred.)

About Us
The Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE) provides specific educational, financial, legislative, and leadership services and support to all K-12 school districts in Riverside County. As an organization, it is comprised of the elected Riverside County Superintendent of Schools and the array of individuals employed by the County Superintendent to help fulfill their statutory duties and responsibilities. A seven member elected County Board of Education is affiliated with the RCOE.
The primary work of the RCOE is divided into the following three areas:
- Providing overarching educational goals, support and services leading to high school graduation, college readiness, and career preparedness of all county students enrolled in public education.
- Providing financial oversight and support of the school districts in the county to ensure fiscal solvency and compliance with statutes.
- Providing credential oversight and support to ensure all teachers in the county are properly authorized for the subject area(s) they are assigned to teach.
Originally, founded in 1893 as the Office of the Riverside County Superintendent of Schools, we are honored to share that the RCOE has developed a state-wide reputation for first-class services in support of high-quality education for all county students.
