The General Services Department is accepting applications for a Full-Time/Permanent Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic. Well qualified applicants should possess the ability to determine, perform routine service of heavy to light duty, electric vehicles and equipment. Inspect, maintain and diagnose equipment and vehicle issues, advise management regarding mechanical issues and complete repair records. Four years of varied mechanical experience on gas and diesel powered trucks or heavy construction equipment and an Associate of Arts Degree in Heavy Equipment Maintenance, Diesel Mechanics, or Heavy Equipment Mechanics or a certificate of completion from an accredited community college or equivalent degree. Good attendance, punctuality, and attitude are important characteristics. Only the most qualified applicants will be contacted for an interview. A duty statement is available in the General Services Transportation Office. SROA, Surplus, and DSH employees meeting transfer or list eligibility will be considered first
