As a Security Officer Full Time Access Control Operations in Long Beach, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a logistics and distribution location, you will help maintain a secure environment by monitoring entry points, verifying badges and visitor access, and supporting orderly site operations. You will remain visible, communicate professionally with employees and visitors, and help deter security-related incidents through attentive access control practices. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Monitor and control access to the logistics and distribution location by verifying credentials, processing visitor and contractor entries, and maintaining accurate entry and exit records.
- Screen incoming and outgoing vehicles, drivers, deliveries, and shipments in accordance with site procedures, escalating discrepancies or unauthorized access attempts.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting activities.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, loading areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
- At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
