POSITION DESCRIPTION: The job of Instructional Assistant, Head Start Programs, Level IV is done for the purpose(s) of assisting in the supervision and instruction of preschool aged children; performing classroom arrangement and clerical tasks; assisting children in meeting health and nutrition needs and developing children’s school readiness, cognitive, language, physical, and social and emotional skills. *WE CAN PROVIDE INTERVIEWS VIA ZOOM*
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Six months experience working as an instructional assistant in an early care and education setting. Experience in Head Start/Migrant Head Start programs preferred. REQUIRED EDUCATION: An associate’s degree from an accredited college/university, including completion of 24 semester units of early childhood/child development education. Specific skills required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include Communicate effectively with young children, parents and staff; communicate effectively both orally and in writing utilizing both English and Spanish.

As an organization, it is comprised of the elected Riverside County Superintendent of Schools and the array of individuals employed by the County Superintendent to help fulfill their statutory duties and responsibilities. A seven member elected County Board of Education is affiliated with the RCOE.

The RCOE’s main offices are located in downtown Riverside, California with regional offices in the cities of Indio and Murrieta and a legislative field office located in Sacramento. RCOE operates classroom based direct instruction for students in a variety of unique educational programs at over 100 different locations across the county.
