ASSOCIATE PARK AND RECREATION SPECIALIST – CENTRAL VALLEY DISTRICT / RIVERS SECTOR / DOS RIOS STATE PARK

The reporting location for this position is Dios Rios State Park in Modesto, CA. This position will work under the direction of Senior Park and Recreation Specialist.

The Associate Park and Recreation Specialist (APRS) provides project management and support for park improvement projects and oversees the interpretation projects and program within the Rivers Sector. The APRS acts in a lead capacity and trains staff in interpretive or planning methods and techniques in accordance with California State Park policies. The incumbent with assist with staff schedules, oversee front line programing, social media, and printed media. Regularly works alongside cultural, natural history, ranger, concession, and maintenance staff to meet park goals and objectives.

Training and Development Assignments may be considered.

Working Conditions

Work will be performed in both an indoor office environment at a computer workstation as well as outside locations in various weather conditions. May require working on weekends and holidays.
