This ARMAMENT EQUIPMENT REPAIR INSPECTOR position, is located in the Combined Support Maintenance Shop, Long Beach, California and is part of the CA CSMS Long Beach.

Duties

• THIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE, PERMANENT POSITION. The primary purpose of the ARMAMENT EQUIPMENT REPAIR INSPECTOR, WG-6601-11, is to inspect the repair of all armament equipment to ensure that physical and operating characteristics are within acceptable standards and specifications. May make additional selections within 90 days of eligible(s) issuance.

Qualifications

• General Experience: Possess experience, education or training which provides the ability to demonstrate the knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems
• The ability to recognize improper operation, locate the cause and determine best method of correcting defects
• The ability to use technical manuals, tools and measuring equipment in making repairs and adjustments
• ARMAMENT EQUIPMENT REPAIR INSPECTOR, WG-6601-11: Must have at least 18 months experience or training demonstrating a broad knowledge in repairing, rebuilding, modifying and testing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems and major components of weapons equipment
• Experience in diagnosing malfunctions and determining needed repairs in weapons systems
• Experience demonstrating the ability to inspect all weapons systems
• Experience interpreting and applying drawings, schematics, blueprints, diagrams and specifications
• Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies: Ability To Inspect Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Equipment Inspection Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc

Requirements:

• CALIFORNIA NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in the California National Guard
• Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform
• Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment

• Compatible Military Assignment and Grade are required
• Military technicians must be assigned to a military position in the same unit which they are employed or, in a unit that is supported by the employing activity
• Military technicians must hold the military grade specified for the position

• AREA I= Current California National Guard employees who are serving on a Permanent/Indefinite/Temporary appointment
• AREA II= Current California National Guard members
• Military Grades: E-5 through E-7 Recruitment/Relocation Recruitment/Relocation Incentive IS NOT authorized
• PCS Relocation Costs IS NOT authorized based on determination that Permanent Change of Station (PCS) move is not in the Government best interest
• Must maintain appropriate level of security clearance
• May be required to successfully complete a one or two year trial period
• Must wear appropriate military uniform including required grooming standards
• Must maintain a compatible military unit, grade and job assignment as required by current directives
• Participation in direct deposit is mandatory
• Security Clearance: at a minimum a National Agency Check is required
