The Stockton Port District is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Electrician.
This is a Journeyman-level classification, which under general supervision performs installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and diagnostic work on a variety of electrical equipment, including cranes.
Examples of Duties:
Diagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
Installs conduit and pull wire for motors, control panels, light fixtures, and outlets.
May perform cable splices of varying complexity including fiber optics.
Provides cost estimates for labor, material, and supplies required to perform a specific assignment.
Performs phase balancing operations and load computations on a variety of electrical circuits.

Certificates and Licenses:
Must possess and maintain a valid California driver’s license and be insurable under the Port’s liability policy or provide other insurance acceptable to the Port.
Medical clearance for respirator use.
Must pass a background investigation and be able to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
