Job Description

Prepares, cooks, and dispenses breakfast foods, soups, sauces, meats, fish, eggs,dairy products, pastas, vegetables, salads, salad dressing, fruits, pastries, desserts, breads, and beverages; cleans and maintains culinary utensils, equipment, and working areas; instruct and train the Cook Specialist I's; inspects personnel and working areas and maintains safety and sanitation standards; reports on the work progress of assistants; keeps records; requisitions, receives, inspects, stores, and inventories supplies as required; may plan menus; and act for the supervising cooks in their absence. Keep floors
clean of grease, water, food items, and small equipment. Perform other duties within the scope of the classification as assigned.

Working Conditions
Standing for extended periods of time; frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying objects from five to 50 pounds; reaching above and below the shoulders; occasional bending, kneeling, squatting, and stooping; ability to handle hot material and temperature extremes.
