This position is located at the DMV Headquarters in Sacramento.
This Limited Term position may be extended to 24 months and may become Permanent.
The Collections Unit is seeking a professional who is self-motivated, organized, dependable, and accountable. Under the general direction of the Manager IV, DMV, the Manager II is directly responsible for supervising and overseeing the activities and functions of three subordinate Manager I's and their corresponding team members who provide customer service via telephone for the public and field office personnel and perform duties relative to the collection of fees and penalties related to delinquent registration and dishonored payment accounts. Act as a liaison to the Franchise Tax Board by verifying payments, resolving customer issues, and addressing daily workload problems that may develop between the two agencies. Address and resolve more complex customer transactions via telephone and in writing, while interpreting and adhering to the California Vehicle Code, Revenue and Taxation Code, Civil Code, and departmental policies and regulations. Compile statistical data regarding employee production and processing times to prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports. Investigate and resolve personnel matters accurately and timely, provide accurate and thorough training of subordinate managers' administrative duties, and ensure timely and appropriate workload training of personnel. Review, evaluate, and discuss performance with all subordinate staff, as well as draft, review, edit, and approve memorandums, performance, and probationary reports. Prepare and select new personnel.
