Job SummaryUnder direction of Supervisor I, the Analyst II performs the full journey level, most complex, analytical tasks relating to the provision of federal and state grants. The Analyst II functions in a demanding and changing environment, which requires the Analyst II to maintain a routine workload and regularly respond to short-term tasks. The Analyst II reviews, analyzes, processes, and prepares responses to a broad variety of forms, documents and correspondence pertaining to federal and state-funded grant programs. These include applications for the more complex funding requests for reimbursement, budget detail worksheets, quarterly, or other periodic reports, appeals, fiscal reports and a variety of telephone and written inquiries into application, program, or funding status. The Analyst II is required to meet legal, regulatory, and internal deadlines on all assignments. In addition, this position shall be responsible for formulating procedures, policies, and program alternatives, making recommendations on program-related issues and advising management on the potential impact. The Analyst II will need the ability to reason logically and creatively and utilize a variety of analytical techniques to resolve complex governmental problems; develop and evaluate alternatives and analyze data and present ideas. The Analyst II is required to travel throughout the State approximately 25% of the time and work overtime as necessary in support of Cal OES program objectives.

The Analyst II is required to meet legal, regulatory, and internal deadlines on all assignments.

Working Conditions
Hybrid Telework: This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule. Additional in office days may be required based on the business need.
