Classification: ANALYST I
Under the general direction of the Branch Chief, a Supervisor I, of the Office of Workers' Compensation (WC) Payroll Unit, in the Division of Safety and Management Services (DSMS), the Analyst I provides administrative and analytical support for the WC Pay & Benefits Branch. The Analyst I has a critical role in providing employees with appropriate pay and benefits when they are unable to work due to a work-related injury/illness and supporting return to work efforts on behalf of injured employees. The SSA partners with others throughout Caltrans, as well as external partners such as adjusters at State Compensation Insurance Fund and staff at the State Controller’s Office, in pursuit of these goals, demonstrating a positive attitude and a commitment to providing quality service that is accurate, timely, and exceeds our customers' expectations. This position is eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltrans’ current telework policy. While Caltrans supports telework, in-person attendance may be required based operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksite with minimal notification if an urgent need arises. The selected candidate may be required to conduct business travel on behalf of the Department or commute to the headquarted location. Business travel reimbursements considers an employee's designated Headquarters location, primary residence, and may be subject to CalHR regulations and applicable bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the headquarted location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
While at their base of operation, incumbent will work in a climate-controlled office under artificial light. However, due to periodic problems with the heating and air conditioning, the building temperature may fluctuate.
