Summary: The Supervisor, EMS Advanced Applications is responsible for providing technical leadership to a team of engineers and technology experts as they provide high quality situational awareness and power system analytical tools to Operators and Dispatchers who safely, reliably, and efficiently manage one of the largest and most complex transmission grids in North America. The Supervisor will be an EMS advanced applications subject matter expert and will continue to contribute technically on projects and day-to-day activities. This role is responsible for key components of a 24x7x365 utilized system and must be ready to support the entire EMS team in resolving issues and maintaining a high level of quality and availability of the EMS and the Advanced Applications used by PG&E. The selected candidate must live within PG&E's service territory and will be required to work in the office a minimum of two days a week (sometimes four days, depending on business needs) PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. Minimum Base Salary (California) $140,000.00 Mid Base Salary (California) $189,000.00 Maximum Base Salary (California) $238,000.00 Responsibilities: Supervise and provide technical leadership to the EMS Advanced Applications Team in 24x7 operational environment to provide system support, analysis, development, programming, and maintenance for the EMS advanced applications utilized by the Grid Control Center (GCC), Operations Engineering (OE) and other PG&E departments. Coordinate with project leads to meet EMS and Operations project objectives, including project completion metrics (budget, schedule), operational improvement goals, and implementation of new technologies. Analyze and resolve complex real-time issues such as data quality issues, State Estimator quality issues, Real-time Contingency Analysis quality issues, and other issues that impact PG&E Transmission Operations. Champion the PG&E EMS Network Model support and maintenance processes, including making internal process improvements through improved modeling tools and procedures. Develop and enforce procedures to ensure EMS Advanced Applications compliance with applicable PG&E, NERC and WECC requirements and standards.
