The Office of Transactions Services (OTS) is looking for dedicated, resourceful, and enthusiastic individuals who strive for excellence and thrive in a fast paced, service-oriented environment. The Analyst II serves as a key technical resource, lead, and trainer for Personnel Specialists and Senior Personnel Specialists, ensuring accurate and timely pay in alignment with departmental policies, control agency requirements, labor agreements, laws, rules, and regulations. This position utilizes multiple systems to import and export high volume data, generate staff forms, and prepare reports for management. The Analyst II also functions as an expert advisor and primary point of contact for resolving the department’s most complex personnel transaction issues.
Under the general direction of the Supervisor I (Branch Chief), the incumbent provides analytical, administrative, and training support to OTS. The Analyst II models a positive, solutions-oriented approach and a strong commitment to delivering high quality, timely, and accurate services that exceed customer expectations.

Working Conditions

Position located at 1727 30th Street, Sacramento, CA 95816.

Multiple positions may be filled from this recruitment.

This position is eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltrans’ current telework policy.  While Caltrans supports telework, in-person attendance may be required based operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksite with minimal notification if an urgent need arises. The selected candidate may be required to conduct business travel on behalf of the Department or commute to the headquarted location. Business travel reimbursements considers an employee's designated Headquarters location, primary residence, and may be subject to CalHR regulations and applicable bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the headquarted location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

While at their base of operation, incumbent will work in a climate-controlled office under artificial light. However, due to periodic problems with the heating and air conditioning, the building temperature may fluctuate.
