Job Summary

Assignment Locations: Auburn, Grass Valley, and Tahoe Truckee campuses, as well as our Justice-Involved programs at both Placer County Jails and the Nevada County Jail
Reports to: Principal, Placer School for Adults

Position Summary
This temporary Counselor will provide academic advising, career counseling, transcript evaluation, and student support services consistent with the duties outlined in the
Board-approved job description, supporting students across our GED/High School Diploma, ESL, and CTE programs. This role will also extend counseling services to justice-involved students at the Placer County Jails and the Nevada County Jail, including coordination with facility staff and support for students' educational planning and transition needs.

Essential Duties
Provide academic advising and educational planning for students across multiple campuses
Conduct transcript evaluations to determine credit eligibility and course placement
Deliver career counseling, including resume writing, job search strategies, and interview preparation
Support student transitions between programs and into employment or further education

Coordinate with facility staff at Placer County Jails and Nevada County Jail to support justice-involved students
Maintain accurate student records and prepare reports on program effectiveness
Administer proficiency tests to support placement and eligibility determinations

Qualifications
Appropriate Credential
Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance
Ability to communicate effectively with individuals of varied cultural and educational backgrounds
Knowledge of curriculum, Education Code, and district policies

Additional Clearance and Training Requirements
