An ESS substitute Expanded Learning Assistant at FCUSD plays a crucial role in supporting and extending student learning outside of regular school hours. This position involves engaging students in various academic, enrichment, and recreational activities, ensuring a safe and meaningful learning environment. The assistant will work under the direction of a supervisor to promote educational excellence and support students' social-emotional wellness and academic growth.

Substitute Expanded Learning Program are also known as school aides, teacher assistants, instructional aides, one-to-one aides, and personal care assistants.

Responsibilities

• Support and extend student learning through various activities.
• Engage students in active and meaningful experiences.
• Perform routine clerical work as needed.
• Supervise students during non-school hours in a safe learning environment.
• Integrate learning support through activities.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• A.A. degree, 48 units beyond the high school diploma, or passage of district county test in reading, math, writing per the federal No Child Left Behind Act.
• TB test clearance
• Department of Justice background check
