Travel: 50%–65% travel throughout Northern California

Reports To: Security Operations Manager

Schedule: Open availability required, including days, swings, graves, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-outs

Diligence Security Group (DSG) is seeking a highly experienced POST-Certified Trainer Field Supervisor - Armed to join our growing leadership team. This is a senior-level field leadership position responsible for developing security professionals, maintaining operational excellence, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing hands-on leadership across multiple client locations throughout Northern California.

This position combines instructor-level security training with field supervision and operational oversight. The successful candidate will lead training initiatives, conduct quality assurance inspections, mentor and develop security personnel, evaluate officer performance, investigate incidents, and provide armed field support when operational needs arise.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned armed security professional, retired peace officer, military veteran, or public safety leader with instructor-level certifications, strong leadership abilities, and a passion for developing high-performing security teams.

What You'll Do

As the POST-Certified Armed Security Trainer & Field Supervisor, you will serve as both an instructor and operational leader, ensuring our officers are fully prepared to deliver professional security services while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and customer service.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Deliver classroom instruction and hands-on practical training for armed and unarmed security personnel.
• Conduct new hire orientation, onboarding, annual recertifications, and ongoing professional development programs.
• Develop and update training materials, lesson plans, post orders, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and operational guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with BSIS licensing requirements, company policies, client expectations, and applicable laws and regulations.
• Conduct scheduled and unannounced field inspections, operational audits, and quality assurance reviews.
• Evaluate officer performance through field observations, coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback.
• Investigate incidents, complaints, accidents, and policy violations while preparing detailed reports and recommendations.
• Respond to critical incidents, emergency situations, and officer assistance requests while providing armed leadership and operational support.
• Inspect uniforms, firearms, body armor, duty gear, radios, and issued equipment to ensure operational readiness.
• Assist with staffing shortages, emergency deployments, account transitions, and special operational assignments.
• Partner with Operations, Human Resources, and Recruiting to support hiring, onboarding, leadership development, and employee retention initiatives.
• Promote a culture of professionalism, accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Minimum Qualifications

Required

• Valid California BSIS Guard Card
• Valid California BSIS Firearms Permit
• Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record
• Current POST Basic Certificate or higher
• Current instructor certifications in:
• Firearms
• Baton
• Taser
• OC/Pepper Spray
• CPR/AED & First Aid
• Defensive Tactics and/or Handcuffing
• Minimum five (5) years of armed security, law enforcement, military, corrections, executive protection, or related public safety experience
• Minimum three (3) years of supervisory, training, or leadership experience
• Strong knowledge of California BSIS regulations and private patrol industry standards
• Ability to travel extensively throughout Northern California and work a flexible schedule based on operational needs

• Experience managing multi-site security operations
• Experience conducting firearms qualifications and range instruction
• Experience supporting government, education, healthcare, transportation, commercial, or critical infrastructure clients
• Experience developing security training curriculum and mentoring supervisory personnel
