Automotive Technician Apprentice

What is apprenticeship with AAG?

Automotive Apprenticeship Group is a Registered Apprenticeship Program focused on helping career seekers gain the skills, training, and opportunities needed to start a career as an Automotive Technician.

Unlike a typical job, this Apprenticeship Program opportunity offers a Department of Labor Certification as an Automotive Technician and offers Full Time employment while you are learning and doing hands on training. During your apprenticeship you will undergo 3 types of education. Online, Classroom, and On the Job.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in vehicle inspections and diagnostics alongside experienced team members.
  • Perform standard maintenance tasks like oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
  • Learn to troubleshoot and fix common vehicle issues under supervision.
  • Ensure all tools and work areas are organized and meet safety standards.
  • Participate in hand on training classes per schedule to enhance your automotive expertise
  • Commit to completing all learning and education requirements in addition to working on the job in a service center in your community.
  • Professionally communicate with AAG, dealership staff, mentors, and customers.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Enthusiasm for the automotive field and learning new skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must be 18 or older to being On the Job work experience
  • Acceptable drivers record with minimum moving violations or vehicular related incidents (apprentices will be road testing customer vehicles)

Why Apprenticeship?

There is a VAST need for skilled technicians across the US. These jobs are secure, in demand, and offer excellent income potential for skilled professionals. Master technicians can make earnings in the upwards of $100K, while entry level wages post apprenticeship range from $50k-$80k.

AAG is an entry level pathway to begin learning the industry, learning the crucial skills and knowledge needed to be a capable and productive technician, while having mentors assist you on both professional and personal growth.

Apprenticeship with AAG offers mentored education and training in the automotive industry. Apprentices work Full Time, complete theory learning in an online environment, and attend hands on lab learning to meet all requirements to earn their Certificate from the U.S. Department of Labor. Prior credits of learning are honored for apprentices with some formal training/learning, however, there is NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!
