Duties A correctional deputy works within the Sheriff’s jail system to control inmates by performing duties such as: Escort inmates to the Medical Unit Control contraband through routine facility and inmate searches. Maintain security through key, door, tool and equipment control. Perform business and record keeping functions. Photograph inmates, take fingerprints.
