Programs and operates Coordinates Measurement Machines for production parts and tooling fixtures to engineering drawings using precision inspection tools and gauges. Will also be focal for R&D and New Product Development activities as they arise.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Program, Set-up and run Zeiss Coordinate Measuring Machine with latest versions of Calypso software. Program, Set-up and Operate Metronics QC5000 CMM program to current revision. Program, Set-up and Operate Romer Arm Verisurf with current version of software. Maintain CMM cleanliness and operations. Operate and maintain Comparators. Interpret complex tool drawings. Use Standard Measuring Instruments (including sine plates) to make inspection set-ups. Initiate appropriate inspection reports. Record inspection results. Maintain inspection data. Locate tools and perform periodic inspection on tooling listed on the monthly dispatch report. File drawings and reports. Assist inspection areas when additional capacity is required. Review and accept inspection data from outside facilities. Coordinate design efforts with Manufacture Engineering Department. Coordinate tool inspection priorities with Tool Control Department. Maintain area in a neat, clean and orderly manner. Make complex surface plate set-ups to evaluate multi-plane compound characteristics. Use trigonometry to solve angles and legs of triangles generated by set-ups. Compare part drawings to ensure compatibility and anticipated results. Analyze dimensional characteristics on first parts produced on tool to determine if production parts will be within specific tolerance limits. This job description is not all inclusive of all duties. Arrowhead Products was founded in 1937 as Arrowhead Rubber Company. In 1942, Arrowhead Rubber conceived the idea of rubber coated fabric ducting which gave birth to “Airtron” products. This rapidly became the company’s most important product during WWII.
Arrowhead Rubber was sold to National Motor Bearing in 1944. In 1951, Arrowhead Rubber began designing and producing high-altitude pressure suits called “G.U.S.” (Garment, Upper Stratosphere).
The G.U.S. was worn by actor Lee Marvin in a 1959 episode of Westinghouse Desilu Playhouse titled “Man in Orbit.”
