SENIOR MAINTENANCE AIDE (SEASONAL) – CAPITAL DISTRICT

“Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKs program. The reporting location for this position will be in Old Sacramento, Capital District Maintenance Shop, 111 I Street, Sacramento, CA  95814.

The Senior Maintenance Aide (Seasonal) leads seasonal Maintenance Aides in performing unskilled maintenance work; coordinates and leads the activities of seasonal housekeeping and conservation crews in cleanup and maintenance of State facilities; gives instruction in the safe and proper use of tools and housekeeping supplies; inspects completed work for quality control and conformance to established standards; maintains and operates light vehicles; trains lower-level seasonal employees; and may assist permanent maintenance workers in unskilled maintenance tasks at park facilities.

This position may work up to 1500 hours within 12 consecutive months. This position is designated as not telework eligible.

The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.

Possession of a valid driver’s license of the appropriate class and a safe driving record as documented by the Department of Motor Vehicles within 60 days prior to appointment. (A safe driving record is one free from convictions in the past two years for repeated moving violations or a single serious violation, such as drunk driving or reckless driving.)

Working Conditions

May work in an office or warehouse (museum facility) setting or outdoors in unpredictable climates. Ability to bend, stoop, lift, sit, and stand for long periods of time and walk distances on uneven surfaces. Lift up to 25 lbs.
