Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems, F-35 Sustainment Operating Unit, has an opening for an CLS - F-35 Aircraft Powerplants Mechanic 3 or 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals at MCAS Miramar.

Basic Qualifications :
Level 3: Must have a High School diploma or GED and 4 years experience with mechanical/aircraft airframe/power plants/turboprop/egress/avionics and/or crew chief experience.
Level 4: Must have a High School diploma or GED and 6 years experience with mechanical/aircraft airframe/power plants/turboprop/egress/avionics and/or crew chief experience.
Must have the ability to read and interpret technical data and blueprint drawings.
Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
This position requires the ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying tools, lifting up to 50 pounds, working overhead, and accessing small, confined spaces.
Must be able to pass a physical/respiratory evaluation to obtain and maintain necessary respirator clearance and compliance with all respirator fitting requirements.
Must be able to pass a New Hire Physical prior to start.
Preferred Qualifications :
US Navy or Marine Corps CDI, Air Force 5 or 7 Level, or equivalent Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) Certification.
Six or more years F-22 or F-35 Power Line and/or Crew Chief Experience.
U. S. Navy or U. S. Marine Corps experience with thorough understanding of F-35 Fighter Aircraft Systems and operations under COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 and 4790.35.
F-135 Power plant engine run certification, F-35 avionics systems, fighter aircraft crew escape systems (i.e., canopy and ejection seat), experience in structural repairs and low observable system maintenance are highly desirable.
Demonstrated communication skills and experience in a Military-focused Customer Service-Related Industry.
Primary Level Salary Range: $66,600.00 - $111,000.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $79,100.00 - $131,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
