The Marshall School of Business is seeking an experienced, knowledgeable collaborative, culture-oriented HR professional for the position of Senior Human Resources Generalist to join our dynamic team. The Senior Human Generalist will play a vital role in supporting our organization's HR operations and initiatives, and will be responsible for providing comprehensive HR services, including employee relations, talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, performance management, while partnering with the Human Resources Manager on HR policy development.
Responsibilities and Duties
Serves as the HR liaison to designated departments within the school.
Manages faculty contract business processes in collaboration with the Vice Dean’s Office and academic units.
Act as a trusted advisor and provide guidance to employees and management on various HR matters, including performance management, employee relations, and conflict resolution.
Conduct investigations into employee complaints, grievances, and disciplinary matters, ensuring fair and consistent outcomes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver HR programs and initiatives to support employee engagement, development, and retention.
Supports managers and the HR department in recruiting efforts, specifically: creates job descriptions, drafts, and assembles new position proposals/justifications for central administration review, and posts open positions for recruitment.
Provide guidance and support in the performance management process, including goal setting, performance appraisals, and employee development.
Assists managers in reorganizing their departments.
Coordinates with UCS’s central HR on various administrative issues, including background checks, payroll, compensation analyses, job classifications, and terminations.
Meets with new hires to complete employment and payroll paperwork.
Processes changes of employment in HRIS (Workday)
Provides general assistance to employees regarding leaves of absence, employment status,
Provides reports to Director and school leadership as required.
Conducts needs assessments of teams and departments and provides appropriate solutions (e.g., team building, coaching, OD, training) to improve performance, workflow and engagement.
