Basic Function
This is a professional expert, short term temporary hourly opportunity
The Kern Community College District is looking for instructor/trainers with experience in Construction and General Industry Safety Training
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Five years of related industry experience is required
- Associates or Bachelor's Degree is preferred
- Experience training others to weld
- Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students
Knowledge & Abilities:
- KNOWLEDGE OF:
- Welding techniques
- Welding equipment
- Safety
- Technical drawings
ABILITY TO:
- Meet schedules and timelines
- Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Establish good working relationships with a variety of individuals and organizations and facilitate inter-organizational cooperation
- Learn College and District organization and applicable operations, policies, and procedures
- Utilize internet research, computer word processing, electronic mail, and spreadsheet programs
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing

Kern Community College District (Kern CCD) serves communities over 24,800 square miles in parts of Kern, Tulare, Inyo, Mono, and San Bernardino counties through the programs of Bakersfield College, Cerro Coso College and Porterville College.
