Sr. Accountant

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core cash management, reporting, and reconciliation activities for our San Diego, California team. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing daily banking transactions, and helping ensure timely remittance and compliance reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong month-end accounting knowledge, careful attention to detail, and the ability to investigate and resolve account variances efficiently.

Responsibilities:
• Record incoming cash transactions each day, prepare deposits, and coordinate electronic movement of funds between accounts as needed.
• Compile recurring carrier reports on a monthly basis and ensure payments are calculated accurately and submitted on schedule.
• Administer financial adjustments such as customer refunds, commission-related transactions, chargebacks, and returned payments.
• Complete monthly reconciliations for bank accounts and balance sheet accounts, research outstanding differences, and drive issue resolution.
• Track daily banking activity and available cash positions, then communicate funding requirements and balance updates to leadership.
• Review past-due receivables regularly and take appropriate follow-up actions to support collection efforts.
• Oversee year-end reporting obligations and help ensure required filings are prepared accurately and submitted by deadline.
• Contribute to carrier audit readiness by organizing documentation and assisting with requests during audit periods.
• Provide support for additional accounting assignments and special projects as business needs evolve.

Qualifications

  • • Proven experience managing month-end close activities within an accounting environment. • Strong understanding of general ledger processes and the ability to maintain accurate financial records. • Hands-on experience preparing and posting journal entries with a high level of accuracy. • Demonstrated ability to perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies thoroughly. • Solid background in bank reconciliations, cash activity review, and treasury-related support. • Proficiency with accounting systems and spreadsheet tools used for reporting and analysis. • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively
