Staff Accountant

Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Full-Time Engagement Professionals (FTEP) program. As a salaried employee of Robert Half, you'll work on a variety of projects and interim engagements with leading organizations throughout Sonoma County, the North Bay, and surrounding markets.

This position is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys diverse responsibilities, exposure to multiple industries, and the opportunity to make an immediate impact while maintaining the stability of full-time employment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain general ledger journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, prepaid expenses, and balance sheet accounts.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed.
• Analyze financial data and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare schedules and documentation for internal and external audits.
• Assist with financial statement preparation and reporting.
• Track accruals, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions.
• Support budgeting and forecasting initiatives.
• Participate in ERP implementations, system upgrades, and process improvement projects.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
• Collaborate with accounting leadership and cross-functional departments to support business objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 2+ years of accounting experience
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close procedures
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and basic reporting functions
• Experience with accounting systems such as:
• NetSuite
• SAP
• Oracle
• Sage
• Microsoft Dynamics
• QuickBooks
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities
• Ability to quickly adapt to new systems, teams, and business environments
