Accounting Manager

Tyler Houk (Practice Director) with Robert Half is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join a growing organization and provide steady leadership across core accounting functions. This fully remote opportunity is based in Fresno, California, and offers the chance to guide a small team while helping maintain accurate reporting, strong controls, and efficient financial processes. The ideal candidate brings a solid background in accounting operations, team supervision, and financial analysis, with the ability to support business performance in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities:

• Direct, coach, and evaluate a three-person accounting team, fostering accountability and consistent execution across daily and monthly activities.

• Manage essential accounting operations such as general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, journal entry review, and timely month-end close completion.

• Verify the accuracy of financial transactions by ensuring proper application of debits, credits, and supporting documentation within accounting systems.

• Work closely with organizational leadership to strengthen financial reporting, monitor cash flow trends, and improve accounting procedures.

• Establish and uphold internal control practices that support compliance and protect the integrity of financial data.

• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, budgets, and performance-to-plan reporting to support informed decision-making.

• Utilize Famous software and advanced Excel tools to build reports, organize financial data, and improve visibility into operational results.

• Assist with audit preparation and collaborate with cross-functional partners in a remote work setting to resolve accounting issues and support business needs.

Qualifications

• • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, with accounting strongly preferred
• • At least 5 years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities
• • Strong knowledge of month-end close, general ledger activity, account reconciliations, and journal entry processing
• • Experience preparing financial reports and supporting audit-related activities
• • Proficiency with Famous software is highly preferred
• • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis functions such as lookups and pivot tables
• • Clear communication, sound problem-solving ability, and success working with remote or distributed teams
