Security Shift Supervisor (split shift) - San Jose

Job Description

Must be 21+ for insurance purposes. Shift: Day Shift (7:30am - 4pm) for Sunday - Tuesday, Swing Shift (3:30pm-midnight) for Friday & Saturday

Position Summary: The Shift Supervisor will supervise and coordinate the delivery of quality services on a specific shift at an assigned customer. The Shift Lead will act as a liaison between site supervisor, Account Manager/Field Operations Manager and professional security officers. Supervise staff on assigned shift, providing coaching, recognition and discipline within approved empowerment range.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Oversees the shift workflow of the department.

• Handles discipline of employees in accordance with company policy.

• Keep accurate logs throughout your scheduled shift

• Must be able to frequently prepare written reports and logs in neat, legible handwriting

 

Detailed Duties/Responsibilities:

• Must be able to read and understand all operating procedures and instructions

• Ability to handle both common and crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently

• Ability to handle crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently

• Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow or heat

• Maintain the security and safety of the hospital community

• Patrol the facility, ensuring the continual safety and security of all hospital staff, patients and visitors

• Maintain a physical presence within the hospital facility; serving as a visible deterrent to illegal activity

• Positively contribute to the overall patient experience by providing superior customer care

• Provide an empathetic approach to managing patient aggression

• Write detailed and accurate reports outlining any incidents that occur on the property

• Respond to emergency situations that require security assistance

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

• Effective interpersonal and customer service skills.

• Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

 

Education and Experience:

• Must be at least 18 years old

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• At least two years’ related experience required

 

Physical Requirements:

• Occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds

• Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift

• Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time
