Applicants must be either between the ages of 18-26 years old or military affiliated (no age requirement*), have a HS diploma or equivalent, and be legally able to work in the United States without sponsorship. As the companies in our employer partner network are based here in the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento, and Los Angeles we give preference to applicants who live within a 150-mile radius or no more than 2-hour commute.
NPower has a dedicated professional development team eager to help make our students the best possible candidates by arranging mock interviews, resume building workshops, and guest speakers from different tech companies.
We also provide job placement services through our extensive employer network. Our students have been placed in paid internships, apprenticeships, and full-time positions at Accenture, Deloitte, EY, Mozilla, Robert Half Technologies, SpaceX, and even the Golden State Warriors.
We offer 3 certifications (free of cost to students) during this class:
1.) CompTIA's ITF+ (https://www.comptia.org/certifications/it-fundamentals): This is an entry level introduction into IT, helping to develop a broader understanding of the Tech industry. The exam focuses on the essential IT skills and knowledge needed to perform tasks commonly performed by advanced end-users and entry-level IT professionals alike.
2.) Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/credentials/certifications/azure-fundamentals/?practice-assessment-type=certification) is the cloud computing platform developed by Microsoft. It offers management, access and development of applications and services to individuals, companies, and governments through its global infrastructure. Earning this certification gives our graduates a foundational understanding of Cloud Computing and can help prepare them for our advanced Cloud Computing program.
3.) Google Professional Certifications (https://grow.google/certificates/). Once our trainees have completed ITF+ and Azure Fundamentals, they are free to pursue one of the Google Professional Certifications which include Data Analytics, Project Management, UX Design, Cybersecurity, and IT Support.
