ESS Campus Monitor -Substitute

Position Summary:

The Campus Monitor assists in maintaining a safe, orderly and positive school environment by supervising students and monitoring designated areas of the school campus. The position supports school administration and staff by promoting appropriate student behavior and helping ensure compliance with school rules and safety procedures.

Typical Duties:

• Supervises students before school, during passing periods, lunch, breaks and dismissal.
• Monitors hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, playgrounds, common areas and other assigned areas of the campus.
• Helps maintain orderly student behavior and reinforces school rules and expectations.
• Observes student activity and identifies potentially unsafe, disruptive or inappropriate behavior.
• Intervenes appropriately when necessary and refers significant disciplinary issues to administrators or designated school staff.
• Helps prevent conflicts and encourages positive interactions among students.
• Reports safety hazards, suspicious activity, injuries or other concerns to appropriate staff.
• Assists with student movement and crowd control during busy periods and school activities.
• Provides directions and assistance to students and visitors when needed.
• Communicates effectively and respectfully with students, teachers, administrators and other school personnel.
• Performs other related campus supervision duties as assigned.

Work Environment: The position involves considerable walking and standing and primarily involves direct interaction with students in a school-campus environment.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
