Under the general supervision of the Area's Officer Services Supervisor I (Typing), the Office Assistant, (Typing) will perform a variety of clerical duties. The primary duties include, but are not limited to, greeting and assisting customers at the front window and via telephone. Process CHP 180s, Vehicle Report, for all vehicle storages and impounds. Mail notifications to registered and legal owners. Verify storage and impound information in California Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (CLETS) and CLETS Electronic Record Tracking System. Maintain CHP 180 files and retention. Receive and process all requests for crash and arrest reports. Record toxicology results, prepare CHP 735, Incident Response Reimbursement Statements, and forward to Accounting Office. Prepare arrest reports for the Court Officer to deliver to the District Attorney's Office and Area file, provide arrest reports and DS367 to Department of Motor Vehicles as needed and upon requests for hearings. Prepare CHP 41, Supply Requisition, quarterly for submission to Supply Services. On a quarterly basis check inventory, order and restock supplies, process Automotive and Area invoices utilizing Financial Information System for California. Performs other duties, within the scope of the classification, as assigned.
