OFFICE TECHNICIAN (GENERAL) (PERMANENT INTERMITTENT) – ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES DIVISION / TRAINING SECTION / MOTT TRAINING CENTER / PACIFIC GROVE, CA



The California Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) is seeking an Office Technician to provide administrative, customer, and clerical support services. The position will report for work Monday through Friday, in-person at the Mott Training Center facility, located at 837 Asilomar Avenue, Pacific Grove, CA 93950.

Under the supervision of the Supervisor I (Mott Training Center Manager), the Office Technician (OT or Front Desk Assistant) performs a variety of duties while managing time effectively to meet the needs of the Mott Training Center. The OT will provide customer services to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Provide customer service and support, take and route incoming phone calls.
  • Maintain and organize the shared Microsoft Outlook mailbox and calendar.
  • Make updates to the shared Microsoft SharePoint website, research and retrieve records, documents, and files
  • Support Program Coordinators and Training Specialists with administrative tasks.
  • Maintain organized office and reception areas, monitor and maintain office technology and equipment.
  • Manage office, classroom, and program supply inventories, process incoming and outgoing mail deliveries.
  • Perform facility opening and closing procedures, conduct facility, lodge, and classroom inspections.
  • Submit and track facility maintenance requests.
  • Set up and operate audio/visual equipment, set up classroom tables and chairs.
  • Assist in preparing and distributing training supplies and materials.
  • Coordinate meal delivery and distribution.
  • Coordinate updated lodging information to Program Coordinators and Training Specialists.
  • Assist with training event coordination and logistics.

This position may work up to 1500 hours in any calendar year.

This position is designated as not telework eligible.

Training and Development assignments may be considered.
