Job Description

Tesla Energy is looking for an engineering manager to lead a team of system integration engineers responsible for Megapack firmware and software integration and validation.

This role requires strong technical expertise in firmware / software development, validation and regression testing, electrical engineering, understanding of hardware product development processes, and excellent communication and problem-solving skills. You will be a driving force in shaping the future of Tesla's energy storage business, leading validation strategy and execution for current and next-generation industrial energy products across utility-scale and commercial & industrial applications.

The Role

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of system integration and validation engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and accountability. Scale test infrastructure and automation capabilities to support expanding product portfolios and increasing variant complexity
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including Firmware/Software, Controls, Application, Service, Compliance, Release Management, Hardware Design, and Reliability to close validation gaps and accelerate high-quality firmware deployment
  • Lead debugging and root cause analysis of complex hardware/software system issues while ensuring robust validation of customer-facing features and safety-critical functions
  • Provide regular progress updates, metrics, and actionable insights to engineering leadership while identifying risks, developing mitigation strategies, and delivering strategic recommendations
  • Define and execute a comprehensive test infrastructure roadmap, ensuring thorough coverage of all Industrial Energy Product firmware and software features
