Job Description

Tesla is seeking a self-motivated Process Engineer to ensure continuous production quality and enable world-class manufacturing of Tesla’s cutting-edge humanoid AI robot.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a profound impact in innovation of the humanoid bot manufacturing space. Tesla is a demanding and fast-paced environment where you will work on a critical subsystem of the Optimus architecture.

The successful Process Engineer will work with cross-functional teams to aggressively ramp the Optimus to full-scale production and beyond. This individual will develop robust operational processes to greatly improve efficiency and quality in Bot manufacturing. This includes analysis of yield, cycle time, and process capability. The engineer will leverage lean manufacturing principles, poke yoke fixtures, data visualization, material flow, and possess an exceptional ability to root cause based on first principles. They will identify trends and signals in process data to allow rapid generational leaps in Bot manufacturability and rate. This individual is exceptional at communication through data, with a demonstrated ability to delete and simplify complex process steps.

The Role

  • Review critical process metrics daily for statistical shifts from nominal and develop game plans to address
  • Identify and develop critical process monitors and metrics for Optimus manufacturing to identify and resolve key constraints to full scale production
  • Lead cross functional implementation of complex assembly processes to production
  • Guide and develop roadmaps for aggressive improvement to OEE metrics: Yield, Cycle Time, Availability, and Cost. Report metrics to upper management
  • Manage workload with a positive attitude as a team player in a collaborative work environment
