Job Description

Tesla is seeking a motivated engineer for enhancing its electromagnetic

computational capability. This position is critical for Tesla’s current and

future product. This person will be working in the motor research team to develop

accelerated computation software and hardware and develop the system

optimization strategy and workflow.

The Role

  • Develop, integrate, and scale high-performance computational tools

including: MPI+CUDA PDE solvers for electromagnetic analysis; domain

decomposition schemes and algebraic multigrid methods; and time domain

simulation frameworks

  • Build and train surrogate models and neural operators (PINN, FNO,

DeepONet) to accelerate simulation and optimization workflows of electromagnetic

system

  • Develop multi-physics simulation strategies for real world operation

conditions considering devices uncertainties and nonlinearities

Requirements

  • Degree in Computational Engineering or a related field, or

equivalent industry experience and evidence of exceptional ability

  • Experience developing optimization algorithms and workflows
  • Good physical understanding of electrical machines and power
