Job Description

We are looking for a PCBA Supplier Industrialization Engineer to plan, organize, direct and conduct industrialization related activities within the supply chain team. They will also develop, manage, audit, improve and correct supplier planning and execution of component manufacturing and assembly techniques, as well as quality control processes from the advanced development phase to mass production qualification.

The Role

  • Drive Contract Manufacturers (CM) on quality, responsiveness, and process efficiency
  • Own and be responsible for field quality failures through Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs)
  • Participate in supplier quotations by acting as the technical expert and providing expert knowledge on PCBA line layout and setup
  • Review and approve PCBA Design for Manufacturability reports
  • Determine and manage production line layout capacity by balancing cycle time and driving process flow changes
  • Audit and improve suppliers onsite to meet Tesla requirements
  • Act as the critical-to-quality (CTQ) leadership during New Product Introductions (NPIs) for suppliers

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability
  • Experience with Problem Solving tools, including RCCA, Fishbone, Process Mapping, and/or 5 S’s
  • Solid experience with launching NPIs and project management
  • Strong knowledge of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
  • Good working knowledge and understanding on design rules regarding THT, Reflow, Conformal Coating, Underfill, Washing, Press Fit, Pin Insertion, and depanelization
  • Excellent spoken and written English
