This position is expected to start in September 2026 and continue through fall term (ending approximately December 2026 or later, if available). We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time (40 hours/week) and on-site, for most Interns. Our Intern program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program. Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not Interns.

International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.

About the Team

As a member of the Charging Data Modeling team, you will develop models and algorithms that bridge the engineering, service, deployment, and operation of Tesla’s charging infrastructure to enhance the customer charging experience worldwide. You will also design next-generation fleet orchestration algorithms (with charging as a core focus) and use Tesla’s Robotaxi simulation environment to test and refine these strategies at scale.

This work is highly impactful-shaping the charging experience for millions of customers today while laying the foundation for autonomous fleets tomorrow.

The Role

  • Use statistical analysis and large-scale data to extract insights on fleet usage, charging trends, performance, and customer behavior
  • Improve data-driven decision making through rigorous analysis, machine learning modeling, and clear communication with stakeholders
  • Leverage insights to inform planning, siting, timing, and optimization of Tesla’s EV charging infrastructure
  • Design, prototype, and help productionize algorithms that drive customer-facing UI features and pricing signals
