Job Description

Tesla is at the forefront of innovation in high power density actuators and motors, and we are looking for a skilled Dyno Technician to join our dynamic Testing Team. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the precision and performance of our cutting-edge components by conducting measurements and setups on advanced dynamometer systems. You will collaborate with R&D and engineering teams to support custom test configurations and contribute to our mission of excellence in electric vehicle technology.

The Role

  • Perform measurements of motors and actuators using dynamometer systems
  • Set up actuators and motors on dyno equipment for testing
  • Write and run basic test sequences for evaluation purposes
  • Debug and resolve various dyno-related issues
  • Support R&D teams with custom test configurations as needed
  • Handle equipment setup for rotational components
  • Ensure accurate data collection and reporting during testing processes

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in rotational component testing or related field
  • Familiarity with rotational machinery components and testing methodologies
  • Ability to write simple event-based test scripts for dyno operations
  • Proficiency in measuring 4-point resistance and insulation tests
  • Experience with MS Office, SQL, and data visualization software
  • Knowledge of MATLAB or Python (Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib packages) is a plus
