Job Description

We are looking for an Engineering Technician who will prepare prototype and production-level vehicles for chassis controls testing. This full-time role requires the flexibility to travel (40%) to domestic and international destinations in both summer and winter conditions. You will enable the testing of safety-critical chassis controls software (Traction Control, Stability Control, Steering, ABS, etc.) that supports reliable vehicle dynamics as we expand AI-powered autonomy across the fleet for Tesla owners and Robotaxi riders.

The Role

  • Support prototype vehicle builds
  • Maintain vehicles and update to latest specifications
  • Provide vehicle support at remote proving grounds
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
  • Perform vehicle inspections
  • Track prototype parts
  • Coordinate vehicle and equipment logistics
  • Communicate issues discovered clearly and directly
  • Seasonal travel to proving grounds around the world (40%)

Requirements

  • 3+ years Vehicle Technician experience
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Strong workmanship and attention to detail
  • Able to work against high-level goals without day to day oversight
  • Able to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced environment
  • Fabrication skills, preferred
  • Exposure to vehicle testing, preferred
  • Knowledge of CAN architecture, preferred
