POSITION SUMMARY
The California Army National Guard is accepting applications for an Active Guard Reserve (AGR) Operations Sergeant position supporting DET 1, HHB 100th Missile Defense Brigade at Vandenberg Space Force Base.
This position supports a detachment within the Army's only ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Brigade, whose mission is defending the homeland against intercontinental ballistic missile attacks. The Operations Sergeant assists the commander with planning, coordinating, and supervising detachment activities while overseeing personnel, training, safety, readiness, equipment, and administrative requirements.

Applicants must currently be qualified in one of the following MOSs:
14E | 14G | 14H | 14P | 14T
Applicants must also be able to become ASI T3 qualified within 12 months of hire.
Important: E6(P) applicants must be on a current E7 Enlisted Promotion List (EPL).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Commander with planning, coordinating, and supervising detachment activities.
- Oversee tactical Standard Operating Procedures (TSOP) and duty schedules.
- Advise leadership on personnel matters.
- Support duty assignments, promotions, and career management.
- Execute an NCO Development Program.
- Ensure training is properly planned, executed, and assessed.
- Maintain accountability and welfare of detachment Soldiers and their families.
- Oversee the training, safety, and fitness of five NCOs.
- Maintain responsibility for more than $10,000 in equipment.
- Manage an annual training, travel, and logistics budget exceeding $20,000.
- Support homeland defense and Ground-based Midcourse Defense operations.

- Brigade Command Concurrence for AGR Soldiers with less than three years in their current assignment
Letters of Recommendation are Board/Optional.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must:
- Have completed the Advanced Leadership Course (ALC).
- Complete the Ground-based Midcourse Defense Qualification Course (GQC) within one year of hire.
- Possess a current SECRET security clearance and be eligible for a Top Secret/SCI clearance.
- Meet Army fitness and body composition standards.
- Meet Army medical retention and fitness standards.
- Not be flagged or in a Medical Non-Deployable status.
- Meet applicable AGR eligibility and Position of Significant Trust requirements.

Applicants must possess:
MM: 92 minimum
GT: 90 minimum
OF: 87 minimum
