POSITION SUMMARY

The California Army National Guard is accepting applications for an Active Guard Reserve (AGR) Squad Leader / Training NCO position with CO A, 578th Brigade Engineer Battalion in El Centro, California.

The Training NCO provides full-time support to company training and operational readiness. The position is responsible for coordinating training and administrative actions, processing orders and travel, maintaining training calendars, supporting logistics and supply operations, and assisting leadership with unit readiness requirements.

E5 – E6

Important: Applicants must already be 12B MOS qualified (MOSQ) to apply.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support company-level training and operational readiness.
• Synchronize administrative and operational activities.
• Prepare, review, and process training and operations documentation.
• Provide required reports to higher headquarters.
• Develop products supporting the unit's common operating picture.
• Input and manage unit training requirements.
• Input and review military orders.
• Review and submit travel requirements.
• Submit range requests.
• Maintain and update unit training calendars.
• Support supply and logistics operations.
• Maintain accountability of unit property and sub-hand receipts.
• Support the unit maintenance program.
• Ensure monthly sensitive-item and cyclic inventories are completed, maintained, and signed by the Unit Commander.
• Assist with maintaining Class IX registers.
• Track unit Operational Readiness (OR) ratings and vehicle status.
• Assist with briefing materials, ammunition requests, training-site requests, and other required reports.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must:

• Possess the appropriate security clearance for the grade, MOS, and AGR position.
• Have working knowledge of automated office procedures.
• Possess a valid state driver's license.
• Be capable of operating military vehicles and equipment organic to the unit.
• Be able to maintain a Government Travel Card (GTC).
• Have a valid CAARNG account or obtain one within 30 days of hire.
• Attend required Unit Training Assemblies, Additional Training Assemblies, and Annual Training.
• Attend required MOSQ, ASI, and other military training courses.
