POSITION SUMMARY

The California Army National Guard is accepting applications for Recruiting and Retention NCO positions at multiple duty locations.

This position is responsible for generating and developing recruiting leads, conducting presentations about the Army National Guard, determining applicant eligibility, conducting interviews, processing enlistment actions, and supporting Soldier retention and strength maintenance efforts.

Applicants must be in the grades of E6 through E7.

E6 applicants: Must possess SQI 4 and be able to become 79T MOS qualified within 12 months of hire.

E7 applicants: Must already be 79T qualified.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop recruiting leads and contact prospective applicants.
  • Promote the Army National Guard within units and local communities.
  • Conduct presentations covering ARNG missions, benefits, employment opportunities, and service.
  • Prequalify prospects and referrals for enlistment or extension eligibility.
  • Schedule and conduct applicant interviews.
  • Conduct follow-up interviews supporting retention and extensions.
  • Counsel applicants regarding test results, contracts, service obligations, IET requirements, and potential disqualifications.
  • Process enlistment documentation and waiver requests.
  • Process and submit enlistment packets to MEPS.
  • Maintain applicant and prospect information within ARISS.
  • Support Soldiers entering the Recruit Sustainment Program (RSP) and Initial Entry Training.
  • Provide strength maintenance and retention guidance to unit personnel.

  8. Current IPPS-A generated Retirement Points Statement / DA Form 5016
  9. Applicable DD Form 214, DD Form 220, and DD Form 215
  10. Current certified Army Fitness Test documentation
  11. Current Height/Weight documentation
  12. Security Clearance Verification
  13. Current DMV printout
  14. Proof of SQI 4 qualification for E6 applicants
  15. Proof of 79T qualification for E7 applicants
  16. Brigade Command Concurrence for applicable CAARNG AGR applicants

Letters of Recommendation are listed as Board/Optional.


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must:

  • Possess or meet eligibility requirements for a SECRET security clearance.
  • Meet Army body composition and medical retention standards.
  • Have a current passing Army Fitness Test.
  • Not be flagged or in a Medical Non-Deployable status.
  • Meet applicable suitability requirements for a Position of Significant Trust.
  • Complete a Microsoft Teams/telephone interview.
  • Be willing to PCS/relocate within 50 miles of the duty location as required.
  • Have a minimum GT score of 110, waivable to GT 100 with an ST score of 96.
