POSITION SUMMARY

The California Army National Guard is accepting applications for an Active Guard Reserve (AGR) Material Management NCO / Training NCO position with HHC 40 BSB in Bell, California.

The Training NCO provides full-time support in the development, administration, and oversight of unit training programs. The position plays an important role in maintaining training proficiency, mobilization readiness, individual Soldier readiness, and overall mission capability for the 40th BSB.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and administer unit training programs supporting mobilization and mission readiness.
• Assist with short- and long-range training planning across unit operations.
• Provide training support and oversight to the 40th BSB.
• Track and manage unit training schedules.
• Complete and process requests for training.
• Track physical training reports and DTS submissions.
• Draft training schedules in accordance with command guidance and higher headquarters directives.
• Assist with quarterly Unit Status Reports (USR) and briefing materials.
• Prepare ammunition requests and training site requests.
• Monitor individual training records and keep the commander informed of personnel training status.
• Maintain the unit training library, training equipment, and training aids.
• Process Army school requests through ATRRS.
• Track completion and progression of DLC and NCOES requirements.
• Advise Soldiers on military education requirements and assist with Army service school applications.
• Conduct preparatory visits to training sites as necessary.
• Coordinate training areas, ranges, equipment, and other facilities required to support unit training.
• Assist with unit training execution and mobilization-readiness activities.
• Attend unit training assemblies, additional training assemblies, and annual training periods.
• Attend required schools, courses, and events supporting unit activities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

WHO MAY APPLY

Applicants must be current on-board California Army National Guard AGR members in the grade of E5.

Under-grade Soldiers may apply but will only be considered after all qualified applicants in the authorized grade have been considered and the corresponding AGR promotion/EPS list has been exhausted.

Duty MOS qualified (MOSQ) applicants are preferred. Non-DMOSQ applicants may submit for consideration but must provide the applicable NDMOSQ ETP endorsed by the Brigade.

ADDITIONAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The selected Soldier must be prepared for:

• Last-minute travel when required.
• Extended work hours and weekends based on mission requirements.
• Unit Training Assemblies and Additional Training Assemblies.
• Annual Training periods.
• Required military schools, courses, and events supporting unit activities.

IMPORTANT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT

This is an AGR lateral announcement. Applicants must currently be serving as a Title 32 Active Guard Reserve member of the California Army National Guard to apply.
