This SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST position, is located in the Army National Guard (ARNG) Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ)/State, Territory, and District of Columbia Safety and Occupational Health Officeand is part of the CA JFHQ Safety.

THIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE, PERMANENT POSITION
The primary purpose of the SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST, GS-0018-11, is to serve as the State, Territory, District of Columbia Safety and Occupational Health Specialist in the maintenance or a comprehensive ground and explosives, safety program for the State.

Compatible Military Assignment and Grade are required. Military technicians must be assigned to a military position in the same unit which they are employed or, in a unit that is supported by the employing activity. Military technicians must hold the military grade specified for the position.

SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST, GS-0018-11: Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-09 level, in: performing periodic/unscheduled inspections of base facilities, warehouses, and equipment maintenance operations and evaluated compliance with applicable regulations and hazard system; experience recommending measures and methods to correct safety and occupational health deficiencies; experience participating in planning for testing of munitions, and assuring integration of explosive safety criteria in testing procedures; experience reviewing test implementation directives for inclusion of appropriate safety criteria; experience preparing supplements to regulations and manuals for aircraft weapons safety and developed local regulations defining applicable mishap prevention procedures.
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies:
Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience: Have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work required.
