The West Sacramento Police Department is seeking dedicated and motivated individuals to join its team as Police Recruits. No previous law-enforcement experience is required.
Police Recruits receive training in law-enforcement procedures, first aid, physical fitness, community engagement and the skills needed to successfully complete a California POST-approved Police Academy. Recruits who complete the academy will be sworn in as probationary police officers.
Minimum qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid California driver’s license at the time of appointment
• At least 21 years old when appointed as a probationary police officer
• U.S. citizen or eligible resident alien who has applied for citizenship
• No disqualifying felony convictions
• Ability to pass the required written examination or provide a qualifying PELLETB score
• Ability to pass the physical agility test, background investigation, polygraph, medical examination, psychological examination and drug screening
