ABOUT THE POSITION
The Riverside University Health System - Correctional Health is seeking to fill Institutional Nurse vacancies, (regular, full-time positions only), throughout Riverside County. Under direction, and in accordance with the State of California Nurse Practice Act, provides professional nursing care for individuals detained at a Riverside County Sheriff/Probation confinement or correctional facility; administers treatment and medications as directed; assists physicians and carries out their orders; performs other related duties as required. All candidates will need to pass a Sheriff's Background.
Required Licenses & Certifications
A current and valid Basic Life Support, (BLS), certification, issued by the American Heart Association.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Pre-Employment
All employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of both a pre-employment physical exam, including a drug/alcohol test, and a criminal background investigation, which involves fingerprinting. (A felony or misdemeanor conviction may disqualify the applicant from County employment.)Probationary Period
As an Approved Local Merit System, all County of Riverside employees, except those serving "At Will," are subject to the probationary period provisions as specified in the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, County Resolution, or Salary Ordinance.
